DepEd Moves Christmas Break to December 15, 2018

There is a recent update from the Department of Education regarding the last day of classes or the Christmas Break for 2018. DepEd has moved schools Christmas break earlier from December 22 to December 15, through the DepEd Order No. 049 series of 2018.

The Department of Education values the importance of spending quality time with the family. The Christmas season provides an opportunity for Filipino learners to strengthen their emotional bonds with their family.

In view of the foregoing, the Department issues this Order amending the start of the Christmas break from Saturday, December 22, 2018 as provided in Paragraph 10 of DepEd Order No. 25 Series of 2018, to Saturday, December 15, 2018. However, December 15 shall remain to be a class day for intended student activities.

Resumption of classes on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, and last day of classes on Friday, April 5, 2019 shall remain unchanged.

Regions, Divisions, and Schools are directed to review the Budget of Work (BOW) on curriculum implementation to ensure that the required competencies are covered.

Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
