Gov’t agencies may dismiss employees from work at 2:00 PM today, Sept. 23

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued the Announcement No. 53, series of 2019 regarding the National Family Week Celebration.

27th National Family Week Celebration

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 60, s 1992, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will lead the celebration of the 27th National Family Week Celebration with the theme, “Tungo sa maginhawa, Matatag at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino,” on September 23-28, 2019. The celebration aims to strengthen the Filipino family unity and relationship through meaningful celebration and promotion of Filipino values.

To promote public awareness in the observance of the event, and as an opening activity of the family Week Celebration on September 23 all government agencies and state universities and colleges are encouraged to extend their full support through the following activities:

  • Simultaneous ringing of bells at 12:00 pm, dubbed as Ring a Family Bell as a symbol of nationwide awareness and commitment to commemorate the solidarity and unity of the Filipino family.
  • Simultaneous ringing of bells at 8:00 am in State Universities and Colleges as a sign of support to the Filipino Family

In line with this, the National Commitee on the Filipino Family (NCFF) enjoins all Filipino families to observe the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day” on September 23, 2019 wherein government agencies may dismiss their employees at 2:00 pm from work to encourage them to spend mealtime with their families.
