Holiday on May 14, 2018 | Special Non-Working Day

This is the Proclamation of President Duterte regarding the holiday on May 14, 2018 and declaring it as Special Non-Working Day all throughout the country.

Proclamation No. 479 Series of 2018

Declaring MONDAY, 14 MAY 2018, as a SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY throughout the Country

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 10952 provides for the postponement of the 23 October 2017 synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections and the rescheduling of the said elections to the second Monday of May 2018 or 14 May 2018; and

WHEREAS, Monday, 14 May 2018 should be declared a special (non-working) day to enable the people to fully exercise their right of suffrage.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare Monday, 14 May 2018, as a special (non-working) day throughout the country.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 2nd of May, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eighteen.
