Is December 8, 2018 holiday? | Republic Act No. 10966

According to Republic Act No. 10966, December 8, 2018 is a holiday. However, December 8 was not included in the Proclamation No. 269 – Declaring the Regular Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the Year 2018.

Proclamation No. 269 was signed last July 17, 2017 while RA 10966 was approved last December 23, 2017. That is the reason why you will not see December 8, 2018 in the list of holidays when you search “2018 Philippine Holidays”.

Legal Basis of December 8, 2018 Holiday

The Republic Act. No. 10966 also know as “An Act Declaring December 8 of Every Year a Special Non-Working Holiday in the Entire Country to Commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Principal Patroness of the Philippines.”
