May 3, 2022 is a regular holiday as declared by Malacañang, which is confirmed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea. This year, May 3 will fall on Tuesday.
According to Philippine News Agency, the Philippine government’s official web-based newswire service, May 3 (Tuesday) has been declared as a regular holiday throughout the country to mark the Eid’ Fitr or the end of the month of Ramadan.
May 3, 2022 Holiday Announcement
In the Facebook post of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, they have announced that NCMF and the Bangsamoro Darul Ifta have jointly agreed to recommend May 3, 2022 as the date of Eid’l Fitr to be announced as a National Holiday.
The Office of the President also released the Proclamation No. 1356 series of 2022 declaring Tuesday, 03 May 2022, a Regular Holiday throughout the country.
Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan)
The Republic Act 9177 established Eid’l Fitr as a regular holiday to honor the country’s Islamic heritage. It is celebrated by the Muslim world for three (3) days after the month of fasting.
