Salary Grade 2026 | Third Tranche (Effectivity Date: January 1, 2026)

Salary Grade 2026 refers to the third tranche of the updated government salary schedule for civilian government personnel in the Philippines. This adjustment is part of the four-tranche salary increase authorized by the President to improve compensation, address inflation, and keep government pay competitive with the private sector. Under Executive Order No. 64, Section 5, the third tranche of the updated Salary Schedule is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026.

Legal Basis of Salary Grade 2026

The implementation of Salary Grade 2026 is authorized under Executive Order No. 64, which updates the Salary Schedule for Civilian Government Personnel.

According to the order:

• Salaries are adjusted based on job value and responsibilities

• Pay distinctions must be justified by position classification

• Salary increases must remain within the government’s financial capacity

The executive order is grounded in the Salary Standardization Law of 2019 and the Compensation and Position Classification System.

When Will Salary Grade 2026 Be Implemented?

Salary Grade 2026 takes effect on: January 1, 2026. This marks the third tranche of the four year salary adjustment schedule:

• First Tranche: January 1, 2024

• Second Tranche: January 1, 2025

• Third Tranche: January 1, 2026

• Fourth Tranche: January 1, 2027

For government owned or controlled corporations and local government units, implementation may vary depending on financial capability, but must not be earlier than the national schedule.
