The latest and updated PhilHealth Contribution Table 2018 was released by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation through the PhilHealth Circular No. 2017-0024 with the subject “Adjustment in the Premium Contributions of the Employed Sector to Sustain the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP)”.
This circular will be effective starting January 1, 2018 onwards. The monthly premium contributions shall be at the rate of 2.75% computed straight based on the monthly basic salary, with a salary floor of P10,000 and a ceiling of P40,000, to be equally shared by the employees and their employer.
Revised Premium PhilHealth Contribution Table 2018
In accordance with RA 10361, the premium contributions of the Kasambahay shall be shouldered solely by the household employer. However, if the Kasambahay is receiving a monthly salary of P5,000 or above, the Kasambahay shall pay his/her proportionate share.
The main reason for the increase of premium contributions for employed individuals concerns about implementing benefits and due to uproar against increase by other government fees like taxes, tolls, fees, social security contributions and the like.
OFW PhilHealth Contribution Table 2018
All OFW shall pay P2,400/year as their annual premium contribution to PhilHealth, which is the same since January 2014. They can have the following payment options:
- P2,400 for one year
- P1,200 for six months; the balance to be paid later in the year; or
- P1,200/year as advance payment for a maximum of five years if payment is made before January 1, 2014
The adjusted premium contribution brings better benefits such as coverage for major illnesses, for migrant workers and their legal dependents. Premium payment may be made at the POEA One-Stop Shop Centers, PhilHealth local health insurance officers nationwide or at any PhilHealth accredited collecting agents abroad.
