DOST ERDT Scholarship | Nationwide Application

DOST ERDT scholarship aims to provide master’s and doctoral degrees in various engineering fields to deliver high-impact research, upgrade the qualifications of practicing engineers, and develop a culture of research and development.

What is DOST ERDT Scholarship?

The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) is a consortium of eight member universities in the country that offer master’s and doctoral degrees in various engineering fields. This consortium is composed of:

  • Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)
  • Central Luzon State University (CLSU)
  • De La Salle University (DLSU)
  • Mapua University (MU)
  • Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)
  • University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD)
  • University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB)
  • University of San Carlos (USC)

Scholarship Privileges

  • Tuition and other school fees
    • Actual as billed (both for Master’s and PhD)
  • Stipend
    • PhP 25,000 per month (for Master’s)
    • PhP 33,000 per month (for PhD)
  • Book Allowance
    • PhP 20,000 per academic year (both for Master’s and PhD)
  • Transportation Allowance
    • One round trip economy fare up to PhP 10,000 per academic year
  • Thesis or Dissertation Outright Grant
    • PhP 50,000 (for Master’s)
    • PhP 100,000 (for PhD)
  • Research Support Grant
    • For Master’s
      • Research Grant (Lab equipment and related cost) worth PhP 114,000
      • Research Dissemination Grant worth PhP 75,000
      • Mentor’s Fee worth PhP 36,000
    • For PhD
      • Research Grant (Lab equipment and related cost) worth PhP 253,000
      • Research Dissemination Grant worth PhP 150,000
      • Mentor’s Fee worth PhP 72,000

What are the qualification for DOST ERDT Scholarship?

1. Be a Filipino citizen;

2. Not more than 45 years old at the time of application;

3. Have passed the admission requirements of the graduate program supported by ERDT;

4. Have BS/MS degree in engineering or related field;

5. Be in good health; and

6. Not have criminal/administrative cases.

Requirements of the Scholarship

1. Properly accomplished application form (Download Link).

2. Photocopy of TOR

3. Recommendation letter from 3 former professors or supervisors

4. Original and photocopy of NSO birth certificate

5. Original and photocopy NBI clearance

6. A narrative of not more than 1,000 words describing your current work or a project or a research that you worked on and your contribution towards the completion of the project

7. A narrative not more than 500 words describing what you intend to do after earning your graduate degree

8. A narrative describing your intended research area

9. Certification from the employer that the applicant is permitted to take a leave of absence (if the applicant is employed)

How to Apply

The consortium member-university shall accept the submission of scanned applications and necessary documents via electronic mail and facilitate the evaluation of the submitted documents.
